Need advice for terrible hair - anything helps! - gatsby - 03-08-2018

So I'm around Norwood 3 and not even 20. I finally learned about the different hair loss prevention options last month, and I plan on starting finasteride and minoxidil in the next few days. The thing is I'm completely clueless about what looks good, and the hair situation is really dragging down my appearance and confidence. So I'll leave some more info and questions below, but if you have any advice at all I'd love to hear it.

Pics. The first is what I usually do, just push the hair over and up in front. That’s how it looks at its current best. I took pics 2-4 just now. The last one is what it looks like pre-shower (sorry).

Style. This is where I’m most in the dark. I use a moisturizing conditioner and blow dry, but no other hair products at all. I met a guy in his fifties the other night, and while he definitely had less hair than me, his looked better and fuller because of the way he styled it. I know my hair is dry and bristle, but I have no idea how to improve or “max” it.

Treatment. I’m considering going a step further with meds since obviously some regrowth is necessary and I’m relatively very young. The sticky’d thread on hair loss on this site mentions dutasteride and ru58841, which seem to be a bit more effective than fin and minox. This is a super newbie question/confession but are those both obtainable legally in the US? Asking because I had to get a prescription for fin.

So I’ve got a lot of hair-related questions but as you can see, any help at all would be much appreciated — I know my hair can only get better from here.
